After the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, and as we saw graphic images of death, destruction and despair all over the news, I was compelled to help in anyway I could. Knowing that my small donation would pale in comparison to the millions, even billions of dollars that will be required to help Haiti, I felt that I had to DO more.
I prayed and asked God to use me in whatever way possible to make even the smallest difference; I thank Him for planting the seed in me, and I pray that you are moved to join me in this effort. So here it is:
I love music and I particularly enjoy the dance & house music genres for its drum rhythms, soulful vocals and overall energy. In the past I have released some of my mixes in podcast form, accessible for free to all who care to download them. I thank you for supporting me by downloading and sharing this great music.
My next mix will be distributed differently. Beginning Sunday, January 31st, I will mail a free copy of my newest mix "HOUSE FOR HAITI," to anyone who donates at least $10.00 (US) to any charitable organization for the benefit of Haiti's relief & humanitarian efforts. Haiti's need is going to extend beyond immediate medical, housing and food requirements; months from now Haiti will still need to support rebuilding its infrastructure as well, just as an example.
PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT asking for donations sent to me or on my behalf in any way shape or form. I simply want to encourage others to participate in caring for and assisting with Haiti's recovery and healing.

I don't know what it is but something about New Year's makes me think of Prince...perhaps because of his classic masterpiece, "1999," which will live on as THE end-of-year party song for many, many eons. So, with him in mind, I decided to give you a Prince-flavored intro to get things started.
Then, I give you tracks 3, 4 & 5 which I'm REALLY feelin' right now...very deep, dark stuff but still right for the dance floor. These are the tracks that inspire this podcast's title: 3AM. If you were, or still are a clubhead, you'll know what I mean.
Thank you for supporting this podcast...I close out 2008 with my 19th podcast thus far...2009 will start off with a jam-packed 20th episode dedicated to the old skool stuff...so watch out for it!!!
PEACE!!!!!!!!!!

I remember my first club experience, when I was only 15 years old; I had met up with my cousin after his prom and we headed over to Danceteria in NYC - somewhere in the 20's on the East Side. I had heard house music before, and loved it already, but this was the first time I got to hear it on a sound system louder then the cheap JVC's I'd been toying with up until that time. Anyway, that exoerience got me hooked...from then on, it was Hearthrob's, Roseland, 1018, Studio 54, the Tunnel...but most of them were still rockin the dance genre d'jour: Freestyle.
Then...one day, I discovered a place on a little known street down in Tribeca. I had heard they didn't open the doors til midnight, they didn't serve alcohol, and they were open until daylight the next day!! So I went to Club Shelter, and that's when I truly became a house head. The sound system was incredible, the DJ's were intelligent in their art (meaning, they were masters of reading the crowd, and controlling the pace and the vibe with this great music called 'House'), and I could spend the whole night sitting by the speaker if I wanted to just enjoying the beats.
That was a long time ago, but I recently made an observation about myself...whenever I'm feeling a little down, or even under the weather, I always feel uplifted when I put the headphones on and listen to some good ol' house beats. It has become, my medicine.
